Do I need crypto to use Fabrica?

No. You can add, sell, buy, and borrow against property on Fabrica without owning any cryptocurrency or downloading any crypto apps.

What happens instead

  • Sign in with email. Click Log In and use your email or a social account. Fabrica creates a secure account for you automatically, protected by passkeys on your device. Nothing to install, no seed phrase to guard.

  • Pay from your bank. When you buy a property, you can choose My bank account and pay by bank transfer or card. Bank payments have a cap, which is shown in the app. Bank-funded purchases complete typically in 5-7 business days.

  • Cash out to your bank. When you sell or take a loan, the money arrives in your Fabrica account and you can send it to your bank with Cash Out.

What is a stablecoin?

Money on Fabrica moves as stablecoins, digital dollars that always equal $1. The one Fabrica uses is called USDC. Prices are shown in US dollars, and one USDC equals one dollar. You will see the name in a few places, but you never need to buy it yourself or understand how it works. Think of it as the dollars in your Fabrica account.

When you would touch crypto

Only if you choose to:

  • You already have a crypto wallet. You can connect it at login instead of using email. External wallets need to be on Ethereum Mainnet.

  • You pay directly from a crypto wallet. Buying with My crypto wallet uses your USDC balance, and you pay a small Ethereum network processing fee (called “gas”) on the transaction. The same applies to a few wallet actions, like approving the onboarding fee from an external wallet or transferring a property between your own wallets.

  • You use your own wallet for everyday actions. If you signed in with an external crypto wallet, actions like listing a property or making an offer can need a small amount of ETH to cover processing fees. The app tells you when that is the case. Accounts that sign in with email never deal with this.

If you stick with email login and bank payments, you will never see any of that. Fabrica pays the network fees for minting your property and other platform steps.

If you are crypto native

Already comfortable with wallets? Then Fabrica works the way you would hope. You can hold your property token directly in your own wallet and use it across the wider crypto ecosystem. A Fabrica property is a standard Ethereum token, so it benefits from the same interoperability as any other token you hold.
