Your property is held by your own trust, and the trust agreement is the legal document that defines how it works. Fabrica improves this document over time, and as an owner you can adopt the newest version for your property.
Where to find it
On your property page, open the Legals card and click Upgrade. This opens the Upgrade Trust Agreement flow, which moves your trust to the latest version of the agreement.
What upgrading means
Each new version of the trust agreement refines the legal machinery around your ownership: clearer language, better protections, and rules for situations earlier versions did not spell out. For example, recent versions added explicit handling for what happens to the trust if a property is lost to a county tax sale.
What does not change:
You stay the beneficiary of your trust, and by default your own trustee.
Fabrica still never holds title to your property and cannot control it.
Your rights as owner (possession, control, sale, borrowing) are unchanged.
Do I have to upgrade?
No. Upgrading is optional, and your property keeps working on the version it has. We recommend it, though: the newest agreement is the most complete and best-protected version, and it is the one new properties get.
The trust agreement is open source, so you can read every version yourself and see exactly what changed.
