In most cases nothing is wrong with your account: bank transfers are simply slower than they feel, and a declined card is usually your own bank being cautious. Payments from a bank, card or wire are handled by Coinflow, our payment provider, inside the Buy property window. Here is what to do when a payment does not go through, or seems to be taking forever.
If your payment was declined
Card payments can be declined by your bank, especially for large or unusual purchases. The app says "Heads up: your card was declined. Try another card or pay by bank transfer." Check for a text or app alert from your bank asking you to approve the charge, then try again. If your bank's confirmation step didn't complete, you'll see "Heads up: your bank didn't confirm the payment. Try again or use another card."
Each option has a limit. If the price is above an option's limit, the option tells you ("Up to $N per purchase. This price is above the limit.") and the app points you to Wire when that fits.
The bank account must be in your name. If the name on a bank account doesn't match your verified identity, it can't be used for bank transfers. Joint and business accounts usually need the account holder's own name. Try another account, or pay by wire.
For larger purchases, use a wire. Pick Wire under Pay by, and the app gives you the details to send from your bank, with a Send by date. Include the reference exactly: wires without it are returned, and if the details expire you start a new payment to get fresh ones.
Processing fees, if any, are the payment processor's and are shown on the option before you pay.
If a bank transfer fails or is returned after the fact, we email you about it, and the property stays listed so you can try again from another account.
If your payment seems stuck
A bank transfer is not instant. After you see "Your bank payment is on its way", the payment clears with your bank, usually by the expected date shown ("It can take a few business days to clear."). During that time the property page shows Sale pending and the day you'll become the owner. That is normal, not an error. We will email you if anything needs your attention, and you will get a confirmation email when the purchase completes. If the date passes, the page says so ("Heads up: the payment is taking longer than expected.") and asks you to contact us.
A wire shows "Waiting for your wire" on the property page until it lands. If you already sent it, it shows up once it arrives; if not, send it by the date shown or the request expires.
If you are the seller in a bank-funded sale, the app shows when to expect your money ("You'll get paid by" a date), and payment arrives once the transfer clears.
If a cash out fails or stalls
The same reassurance applies in the other direction. If a cash out to your bank can't be completed, nothing is lost: the money comes back to your Fabrica account, and the app tells you so. If the app couldn't get your approval, it says "Nothing left your account." Try the cash out again, and if it keeps failing, message us in the chat and we will look at it with you.
Your profile's Cash outs list shows where each one stands: "Expected by" with a date while it's on its way, "Arrived" with the date once it landed, and, if the date has passed, "Was expected by [date]. Visit help.fabrica.land if it hasn't arrived." A cash out that didn't go through, or is being returned to you, says so in its row.
If something has been stuck longer than the app told you to expect, message us in the chat bubble in the corner with a link to the property. Learn more about payment options on the blog.
