When using Fabrica, you should be mindful of three types of taxes:
Transfer taxes: These taxes and fees may apply during the loading, unloading, or transfer of a Fabrica NFT. The specific rules vary by county, but Fabrica will guide you in paying these fees if due.
Income and capital gain taxes: If you sell real property and make a profit, you may have tax obligations. It's your responsibility to understand and fulfill your tax obligations on gains from selling a Fabrica NFT.
Property taxes: Property taxes are typically due biannually to the county assessor. Property owners holding Fabrica NFTs are responsible for paying these taxes. You will receive notifications and tax bills from the tax assessor directly on the email associated with your account. While Fabrica plans to offer automated tax payment tools in the future, for now, it remains the property owner's responsibility. Please note taxes are due even if for some reasons you don’t receive notifications from the tax assessor.
