Yes. Your ownership isn’t locked to Fabrica. There are three main paths.
1. Other online marketplaces
Your Property Token is a standard token on Ethereum (an ERC-1155), so it can be listed on general marketplaces such as OpenSea. A buyer who purchases the token owns the property through its trust.
One important distinction: this applies to genuine sales you agree to. A stolen or otherwise unauthorized transfer does not by itself carry ownership of the property with it. If your token is ever taken without your consent, contact us immediately through the chat bubble and see “What happens if my token is stolen?”.
Tradeoffs to weigh:
Those marketplaces aren’t built for real estate, so buyers see far less of the property detail, documents, and history than they would on Fabrica.
Fabrica’s checkout protections, like the ownership disclosures, the trust-acceptance step, and bank-payment options, only apply on fabrica.land.
2. A traditional sale
You can market your land anywhere: a local agent, a land listing site, a sign on the road. When you find a buyer, you have two options:
Close on Fabrica. Send the buyer your property page and they can buy it right on the page, paying by bank account or crypto. This is usually the fastest close.
Remove the property first. If the buyer wants a conventional closing, remove the property from Fabrica (the off-ramp). A deed is recorded putting title back in your name, and you sell the traditional way. There is no platform fee to remove a property.
3. A private token transfer
Inside the Fabrica app, Transfer Property only moves a property between your own linked and verified wallets. It is not a way to send the token to a buyer. A truly private token sale would happen outside the app, wallet to wallet, and you’d give up Fabrica’s protections for the payment side, so most private deals are better done through the marketplace or an offer.
Our take
Fabrica’s marketplace exists so land sells with full information and a safe settlement, where payment and ownership transfer happen together. Selling elsewhere is your right, and always will be, but for most sellers the native marketplace is the simplest and safest route.
